Founded in 1988 :: Petslodge is a very small, family run, boarding kennels and cattery.
We are situated off the A4 between Reading and Newbury

It's not much fun when your 'people' go away, leaving you at a kennels where you're just another mouth to feed, just another bed to clean, just another dog......no longer someone's special dog.
To us , at The Pets Lodge, an animal is just as much an individual as any human being, it takes more than food and shelter to keep him from boredom and unhappiness.
Dogs need supervision and encouragement to enjoy themselves fully (rather like children). We have decided to restrict the number of dogs we will accept, to allow maximum time for supervised play in our large play area.
At The Pets Lodge we have created a place where your pet can have a real break.

We have less than 20 kennels with inside and outside runs the same as most modern kennels. They are all large runs. We can accomodate two Wolfhounds together,or three Labradors if they come from the same home. We also have four kennels especially for mini dogs. But the big difference between us and 'normal' kennels is that we have a field fenced off. The dogs go out one at a time and get a proper run around. This relieves the tension build up that can be a cause of problems at kennels.

Health
Our buildings have been carefully designed and are managed in such a way as to minimise the chances of infection. To further these aims we reseve the right to refuse admission to any animal showing signs of ill health. Please be open with us. Any treatments advised by your vet can, of course, be continued.

Food
We provide a carefully selected diet of the highest quality. It is formulated especially for dogs in the environment of a kennels and is designed to suit and appeal to the most discerning animal.
A note of the usual food can also be helpful.

Comfort
Cosy hygenic bedding can be provided to suit all.
But most dogs bring some of their own............it's like a security blanket and helps them settle quickly.

Exercise
We endeavour to provide sufficient exercise for all our guests, whether from a country home with regular long runs or from a more sedentary environment where a controlled increase in activity is called for. We believe that a dog's health is directly proportional to the amount of free running exercise. Because we limit our numbers and have secure paddocks, we are able to give much more supervised and controlled playtime than ordinary boarding kennels.
